We are proud to welcome you to Gorse Ride Junior School.  We are a co-educational junior school for children from the age of seven to eleven.  We aim to provide a positive atmosphere where children will feel safe, happy and secure in their learning. That they will develop confidence and grow in all respects so as to achieve the highest quality education for each individual child whatever their previous experiences or present needs.

The school was established in 1971 and has grown to achieve an enviable reputation. In June 2000 we earned the status of "Beacon School" for the excellence of education. Our latest Ofsted report in June 2008 praises our outstanding ethos conducive to learning and stated that we are a good school which continues to improve under the outstanding leadership and management of the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher.  However, education and society in general is always changing and we work hard to keep our practice and philosophies up to date.
